High River, Alberta is home to Macza Pro Rodeo and their legendary bucking horses, Stevie Nicks and Get Smart.
Ols Tubs Get Smart has received some of the most prestigious awards in rodeo such as Bronc Horse of The Year in 2019, as well as the Wrangler NFR Top Saddle Bronc Horse two years in a row. This acclaimed bucking horse has exceeded all expectations that Macza Pro Rodeo had aspired.
A historical moment took place at the 2022 San Angelo Stock show & Rodeo, where Spencer Wright would make an 88-point ride on Get Smart. This ride would be his last as Get Smart was then retired shortly after in that very arena.
Although he may be small in size, Get Smart made a huge impact in the rodeo industry during his time and will go down in bucking horse history.

Sage Kimzey was out most of the 2022 season due to injury, but his break could not have come at a better time for Kimzey as he welcomed his baby boy earlier that year.
“Having a family is definitely something that’s all new to me, for sure. I mean, I grew up wanting to be a World Champion bull rider and that was kind of my only thought, right,” Kimzey said.
After marrying his wife Alexis in 2020, Kimzey left for the summer run. He got multiple texts in a row from Alexis and little did he know the news she had. At a gas station in Riverton, Wyoming, Kimzey found out he was going to be a dad.
With an original due date of early March, Kimzey planned his rodeo schedule accordingly but an unexpected whirlwind started at the end of January. Steele Kimzey made his appearance on January 25.
“He came out a little stud from day one… he was seven weeks early. It’s been a lot of work but it’s been a lot of fun. It’s all good now, mom and baby are both doing well,” Kimzey said.
Sage said that having Steele has put everything into perspective for him and he now understands why he has done everything that he has done and he can feel the direct impact that it has had.
“At the end of the day, the legacy you leave in the rodeo world, it’s one that will be forgotten at some point,” Kimzey said. “Looking into my son’s eyes...You understand why you did everything that you did.”

In the off season, duck hunter enthusiast, MIchael Simms, tests his might on the race track. He was nice enough to take me out one day. At the time I didn’t realize it was standard to go 90 mph into nearly 90 degree turns. For the first 5 minutes, anytime we came up to a turn, I thought we were going to end up flying through the air and into the trees. By the time I got used to the extreme braking on turns, I was nauseous and had to get out. My whole life I thought it would be cool to own a race car and race, turns out I’m better at making stupid videos for friends.
